Description
R2014
Highlights
High Quality: Extract intact high quality total RNA (including small/micro RNAs) from Gram-negative/postive bacteria, yeast, and fungi
Homogenization: Ultra-high density BashingBead technology for complete disruption and sample lysis.
Inhibitor-Free: RNA is ready for all downstream applications including sequencing, RT-PCR, microarray, etc.
Description
The Quick-RNA Fungal/Bacterial Microprep Kit is designed for the simple and rapid isolation of RNA from tough-to-lyse fungi, including A. fumigatus, C. albicans, N. crassa, S. cerevisiae, S. pombe, as well as Gram (+/-) bacteria, algae, and protozoa. The procedure is easy and can be completed in minutes: fungal and/or bacterial samples are rapidly and efficiently lysed with our state of the art, ultra-high density BashingBeads. Zymo-Spin column technology is then used to isolate the RNA that is ideal for downstream molecular-based applications including Next-Gen sequencing, RT-PCR, microarray, hybridization, etc.

‘CMC was purchased from Sigma (St. Louis, MO).. Total RNA was isolated from cells grown in TSB without pectin and in TSB supplemented with 0.4% w/v of either PGA, apple pectin, or RG-I from soy at 12.75 h after inoculation with the ZR Fungal/Bacterial RNA Miniprep kit (Zymo Research, Irvine, CA).. Ten µg of RNA was treated with DNase using the TURBO DNA-free Kit (Thermo Fisher, Waltham, MA).’

‘700926), methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus MRSA252 (ATCC, BAA-1720) and Bacillus subtilis 168 (ATCC, 23857) were used for assay cross-reactivity experiments. . For these experiments, RNA from the bacteria was extracted using a Quick-RNA Fungal/Bacterial Miniprep Kit (Zymo Research) following the manufacturer’s instructions.. To obtain purified viral RNA for cross-reactivity experiments, 5 µl of GII.4, GI.2 and GI.6 positive stool samples were suspended in 140 µl RNase-free ‘
